Inspired by ‘The fall of the House of Usher,’ T Kingfisher explores the weird or rather baffling circumstances of Lord Usher and his sister, Madeline, through the first POV of Alex Easton. As a close friend of the family Easton receives a rather disturbing letter from a sick Madeline to visit her in their family home in London. When Easton approaches to the premises, he is welcome by a rotting and decaying home infested with skin-crawling, flesh-like mushrooms and disturbing, zombie-like hares attesting to this short-story’s horror setting. As the outcome of this fallen house is a roaring fire blazing for two days, read on to explore what lead to this gruesome situation in What Moves The Dead.
